ABOUT BOB BEHRENS, CCIM
In June of 2016, CCIM has lost a dedicated, generous, and deeply loved member of the CCIM family, Bob Behrens, CCIM. Bob was the 2004 CCIM Institute President and served as a mentor to many within the organization.
Bob was the founding director of Re/Max Commercial International's Commercial and Investment Division, where he worked for more than 14 years before launching his own company, Behrens & Associates. During the last five years as founding director at Re/Max International, the Commercial and International Division added approximately 1,700 full-time commercial real estate professionals and closed more than $4 billion in commercial properties annually. Bob cultivated multiple strategic alliances and secured numerous corporate accounts.
In 2002, Bob rejoined Re/Max Commercial Alliance in Denver as president and managing broker. He focused on global commercial and investment opportunities.
According to one of his long-time colleagues at Re/Max Commercial, Mike Reagan, "Bob was recognized around the world for his contributions to commercial real estate. He was very proud of his work on behalf of CCIM Institute. He was my mentor and friend for 26 years. He will be missed by thousands at Re/Max Commercial and CCIM Institute."
Bob earned his CCIM designation in 1992 and became the CCIM chapter president of the Colorado/Wyoming CCIM Chapter in 1995. In 2004, the International Real Estate Finance Center of the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing named Bob a visiting professor. Additionally, he was a board member of the Finance Department at Metro State College in Denver and the Rocky Mountain ALS Association.
Always ready for exploration and adventure, Bob was an instrument-rated multiengine aircraft pilot, a competitive sporting clays shooter, an avid golfer, and a touring motorcyclist.
